Summer Tour

The tour this year was our second and we seem to be learning how to do it better. This year we traveled about 8000 miles in 4 weeks and sang 13 places. Last year we traveled 9500 miles in 6 weeks and sang 8 places.

In Texas we met a lot of nice people. We went to a sporting goods store called "Outdoor World" that was arranged to resemble the great outdoors.

In Marco Island, Florida we stayed with three families. The family that Caitie and Mom stayed with had a canal for their backyard and there were alligators in it. Every time Caitie tried to take a picture of the alligator, he would go under the water. She did finally get one though.

In Ocala, Florida we stayed with some friends that we met last year and we had a great time. The lady we stayed with last year was not feeling well and we were only able to spend a few hours with her.

The only major problem we had was when dad got sick on the way to Virginia and when we got there spent 3 days in bed. We had stopped on the way at the National Sea Shore in Cape Canaveral, FL at a place called Mosquito Lagoon. It came by its name honestly. We have never seen so many mosquitoes. We were only there for about 20 min, but mom was bitten on her leg over 30 times. We don't know for sure, but dad had many of the symptoms of West Nile.

While in Virginia our cousin Troy took us to Kings Dominion, and amusement park. It was great to get to spend time with our second cousins, Troy's children, Hannah and Grandon. Hannah was born since we were there last year.

Stamps Baxter School of Music

We were able once again to attend the Stamps Baxter School of Music in Nashville, TN. This year our attendance was made possible by scholarships provided by Bill Gather. This year we learned a lot more than we did last year in our classes. We (the girls) also had private lessons on how to play Southern Gospel piano from Jane Knight and Travis had guitar lessons from Stephen Hill.

The weekend following the first week of the school we were able to sing at Jason Vaughan's church in Alabama. On Saturday he took us to a Gospel Singing Reunion where we found out that people in Alabama sure do love singing Gospel Music.

We really enjoyed getting to spend time with Jason.

Rocky Mountain Quartet Convention

We were able again this year to participate in the Rocky Mountain Quartet Convention. The guest pianist for the convention was Jason Vaughan. We met him last year at Stamps Baxter. We got with him Thursday night and sang some of the songs we learned at Stamps Baxter and Jason played the piano for us.

We need your help

If you know of a church or organization that would like to use us please have the pastor or person responsible for scheduling contact us or contact us with their information and we can contact them.

Abbas Christmas

George and Kathy Abbas asked us to sing at their Christmas concert. It was a real honor. If you have not been to an Abbas Christmas concert, you do not know what you are missing. You can check their schedule by going to the Links page on our website for a link to the Abbas website.

TV

We were able to sing on two TV shows this year. The first was Home Church Live, January 17th on DCTV Channel 58 and for the second was Denver Celebration, February 17th, KRMT-TV Channel 41. We thank Dan Moriarity, pastor of the Home Church and Dick Newman, General Manager of KRMT TV for these opportunities.

Conferences

We have been privileged to attend three great conferences this year. A pastors conference at Independent Baptist College in Ft. Worth, TX (Dan Darter is the President of the college) and two missions conferences. One at Heritage Baptist Church in Pueblo, CO where Jim Velazquez is the pastor and the other at Temple Baptist Church in Santa Fe, NM where Dr. Harold Chiolero is the pastor.

First Journey

In addition to the CD and Tape we now have a First Journey video with all the songs from the CD.

The Beginning

The Beginning is a collection of home video taken by our parents over the last nine years of us singing from before we knew how to sing through the 2002 Rocky Mountain Quartet Convention. It includes many embarrassing moments that we would like to forget, however, our parents think they are cute.

Ordering

Go to www.grahamfamilyministries.com and click on the Product button on the left side or on the word 'Order' under the picture of the CD on the main page.

Guestbook

We have had a guestbook on our web site for over a year. A guest book is like email except that what you write to us becomes part of our website and others visitors can see what you have written to us. We have really enjoyed reading the messages many of you have left.

Over the last few months the spammers (those who send you all the junk mail) have found they can also send automated entries to a web sites guestbook and they have found ours. We have been getting up to 10 entries each day. These entries range from advertising to porn. In order to prevent this from appearing on our site we have changed our guestbook to allow us to view all entries prior to allowing them to appear on the site.

Entries you may have left since the end of February unfortunately have been lost due to the fact that one of these spam entries shut the guestbook down and we were not aware of it.

We now have it back up with this new procedure. Let us hear from you.

If you have an e-mail address and are not getting e-mails from us please go to the web site and click on the 'Contact us' button and fill out the form at the bottom of the page. Fill in the Name and e-mail blanks. If you received this newsletter in the mail we have your address.
